Consumer-directed health plans
Health savings accounts (HSAs) and health reimbursement accounts (HRAs) give employers and employees the tools for more informed decision-making and enable better management of a health coverage program.
Convenience
Personalized online services
Members who get care at Group Health medical centers get full access to MyGroupHealth. Secure doctor/patient e-mail, appointment requests, online medical record and test results, after-visit summaries, and more. All members can refill prescriptions online with free delivery, browse more than 5,000 health care topics, read condition centers for more in-depth health information, and check their benefits.
Special services
Choose from chiropractors, naturopaths, and acupuncturists. For vision care, Group Health See Centers and Vision Centers provide eyeglasses, contacts, and routine eye exams.
Health and Safety
Prescription safety
Our Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee reviews new drugs before they reach our formulary. Case in point: Vioxx and Fen Phen. We never covered them because we were never satisfied with their safety.
Group Health Research Institute
Our research department has found better treatment methods for chronic diseases, breast cancer, and back pain, to name a few and attracts such partners as the National Institutes of Health, Center for Disease Control, University of Washington, and Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.
Evidence-based medicine
Group Health clinicians practice medicine based on scientific evidence, not fads or marketing hype. Diabetes, for example, is better controlled and treated when patients get yearly retinal and foot exams. It helps prevent costly, serious medical complications.
